URGENT – PLEASE HELP US SAVE OUR DOG This is my last-ditch effort to find a safe home or help for our dog, Lily. She’s a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois/Pyrenees mix who was dumped on us at just 5 weeks old. She’s grown up with our family and is incredibly loyal, goofy, smart, and loving with us, our kids, and our other two dogs. She’s trained to recall to a dog whistle, loves swimming, car rides, and trips to the pet store. She has a big personality and an even bigger heart. But Lily struggles with territorial aggression. She’s never bitten anyone, but she displays frightening behavior toward strangers near our home. Today, she broke through our screened-in porch and scared a woman and her daughter who were walking a neighbor’s dog. Now they’re threatening to beat or shoot her if she ever gets out again. A year ago, she also charged at an elderly man walking by. Again—no bites, but her behavior is understandably terrifying to people who don’t know her. We’ve tried everything. Every shelter, rescue, and trainer we’ve contacted says to euthanize her—even though our vets won’t do it because she’s so sweet and well-behaved in a clinical setting. Animal control has threatened $1,000 fines unless we “take care of it.” We just had a baby a week ago. We are completely overwhelmed and heartbroken. We cannot afford professional training, and at this point, our only option is to rehome her to someone experienced with working breeds—someone who understands aggression and boundaries and can offer her the structure and space she needs to thrive. Please—if you or someone you know can help, foster, rehome, or even guide us to a true sanctuary or behaviorist who won’t give up on her—reach out. We LOVE this dog. We don’t want her to die because of a system that doesn’t offer better options. Located in Six Mile, SC. Willing to transport for the right person.
